Svenska Kraftnät is expanding and modernizing Sweden’s electricity transmission system to ensure a secure and sustainable electricity supply. Through the framework agreement, Svenska Kraftnät will gain access to AFRY’s expertise in designing, building, testing, and improving digital systems – including secure operations, user-friendly design, and ensuring the right needs are defined from the start.
AFRY has collaborated with Svenska Kraftnät for more than 30 years. While this is the first IT-focused contract between the parties, it represents an important step in the continued partnership and AFRY’s commitment to supporting Svenska Kraftnät’s ongoing development.
“By combining our expertise in energy, power grids and IT, we contribute to solutions that strengthen security and efficiency in this critical infrastructure. We are proud to continue our long-standing collaboration with Svenska Kraftnät, now also within IT services,” says Fredrik Persson, Head of Segment Transmission & Distribution at AFRY.
AFRY was selected as one of six final suppliers. The maximum value of the agreement is approximately SEK 2.3 billion, the actual and total value for AFRY depending on the services to be procured. The agreement will enter into force in the second quarter of 2026 and runs for three years, with an option to be extended for a further five years.
