AFRY strengthens offer within structural engineering through acquisition of Gärderup Byggkonstruktion
AFRY strengthens its offer within structural engineering and wooden structures to meet the demand for sustainable buildings. Gärderup Byggkonstruktion, based in Linköping in central Sweden, is a part of AFRY as of 1 March.
Gärderup Byggkonstruktion is a technical engineering company focused on structural design. They work with the establishment of structural design documentation for different stages of the construction process. The company was founded in 1995 by Bo Gärderup and their assignments include design calculations and the production of structural drawings for the load-bearing structure for buildings such as residential, offices, hotels, industries, business premises and sports venues. Among other things, they have worked on projects involving wooden structures for residential houses and office buildings.
“The demand for buildings made out of wood has increased as the work to meet the global climate goals has intensified. Gärderup Byggkonstruktion has strong credentials within this field and we are thrilled to welcome them to AFRY,” says Stefan Cartling, Regional Manager within AFRY’s real estate and construction offer.
“Becoming a part of AFRY brings many opportunities for development for both our co-workers and our clients, which I am very happy about. We look forward to complementing AFRY’s offer within structural engineering in Östergötland,” says Bo Gärderup, CEO at Gärderup Byggkonstruktion.
Gärderup Byggkonstruktion has six employees, annual sales of about SEK 8 million and is based in Linköping, Sweden. The company is consolidated in AFRY as of 1 March 2021.
