AFRY has been chosen by Austrian ASFINAG for project management and site supervision in the rehabilitation and improvement of important infrastructure around the city of Salzburg.

ASFINAG is an Austrian publicly owned corporation which plans, finances, builds, maintains and collects tolls for the Austrian autobahns. Within the infrastructure maintenance of an important north-south and east-west transport connection in Austria, the motorways A1 and A10 around Salzburg will be improved from 2025 until 2029.

The renewal of several motorway sections on these two highways includes the rehabilitation of roadways, bridges, noise barriers and facilities according to the state of the newest technical knowledge.

“We are proud of our long-standing partnership with ASFINAG. The rehabilitation and technical improvements of these important infrastructure sections will relieve the traffic flow around the dynamic Salzburg area, and the project will be conducted with the utmost focus on the most sustainable solutions”, says Markku Oksanen, Head of Business Area Infrastructure Central Europe.

AFRY will be responsible for the project management and deliver a comprehensive suite of services to ensure its successful execution. These responsibilities include tendering, awarding, and managing the construction site, along with coordinating ASFINAG's contractors to ensure smooth and efficient operations. AFRY’s role also includes managing the site while maintaining traffic flow.

The team will also ensure efficient construction and maintenance practices to maximizing the project’s potential for long-term impact.
