    ÅF is once again entrusted with expansion of Arlanda’s Terminal 5.     ÅF designs technical installations for award-winning giant underground parking garage

    ÅF has designed the technical installations in a supersized underground parking garage, which has just received a prestigious Stockholm building industry award.  With 47 000 square metres and some 1000 parking spaces, the Bergrumsgaraget underground parking garage is the largest one in Sweden. Previously, the space served as storage for alcohol merchants Vin & Sprit AB. The caverns are situated in Årstadal, Stockholm, hollowed out of the rock behind the Liljeholmskajen seafront. Creating a parking garage here enabled the developer, JM, to build an additional 600 new flats in the area.

    The concert hall cum conference centre Malmö Live was just named best building project of the year 2016 in Sweden’s annual contest Årets Bygge. This means that ÅF has been on the winning team for as many as four years in a row!     Opera in Sweden improves hall acoustics

    Major work is being done with facility and technology improvements at Norrlandsoperan. ÅF’s acousticians were chosen to work with the acoustics in the concert hall and the opera hall’s orchestra pit. The general contractor and client is PEAB Umeå. ÅF will develop solutions that improve the symphony orchestra’s collaboration and the audience’s experience. The concert hall will include a redesign of the room’s surfaces and new acoustic reflectors.     Construction Project of the Year is the infrastructure planning sector’s most prestigious competition and is a collaboration between the publication Byggindustrin and the company Svensk Byggtjänst.     ÅF has signed a framework agreement with the Stockholm City Streets and Development Offices. Stockholm’s City Streets Office is responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and investments in the city’s streets, roads and squares.     Increased mobility for public transport

    Traffic planners at ÅF have participated in a project that increased the mobility of the city's busiest bus route. The City of Stockholm, together with Traffic Management/SL and Keolis have implemented a pilot project with the vision that public transport must account for 80 percent of all motorised journeys in the city centre by 2030.
