ÅF-project wins "Major Tunneling Project Award 2014”
ÅF is proud to announce that the 900 MW Nant de Drance Pumped Storage Power Plant Project is this year’s winner of the "Major Tunneling Project Award".
The award is organised by New Civil Engineer and the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA-AITES). The Nant de Drance pumped storage power plant is currently under construction in the Swiss Alps.
The pumped storage hydropower scheme makes use of a difference in height of up to 395 meters between two existing reservoirs connected through a system of underground waterways. The powerhouse cavern is 52 meters
