Agria Academy launched for Pony Club members
The Irish Pony Club, Agria Ireland and Red Mills are delighted to announce the successful launch of the Agria Academy scheme. The Academy invites Pony Club members of any age to apply for Academy selection in order to benefit from a range of free products including clothing and horseware, plus training and a yard visit with Agria sponsored rider Sarah Ennis, and tailored feeding advice from a Red Mills nutritionist.
In its debut this year, active Kilkenny Pony Club members Maeve Griffin (10), Will Griffin (12), Eve Doyle (15) and Aisling Dwan (19, pictured above) have been Academy trailblazers, and applications will open in the autumn for another four members to succeed them in 2026.
“Welfare is at the heart of our lifetime policies,” says Agria’s Marketing Strategy Manager Damian Hanley, “so we are delighted to join with the Pony Club and Red Mills to help young riders access brilliant training, expertise and a range of products to help keep their ponies and horses in tip top shape.”
Ivan Hatton, CEO of the Irish Pony Club added: “Having fun with your pony and learning how to give them the very best of care is the first principal of Pony Club life, and the Academy programme supports those goals perfectly. Agria and Red Mills are trusted brands with immense expertise and we’re delighted to be sharing that with our young members.”
Agria Academy member Aisling Dwan added: “You never stop learning about horses and their care, and it’s been both fun and educational to be involved in the Academy. I’d highly recommend it.”
Jane Davis of Connolly’s RED MILLS commented: “At Connolly’s RED MILLS, along with our sister brands Foran Equine and Carr & Day & Martin, we are proud to partner with Agria and the Irish Pony Club in this exciting initiative. Our shared values — particularly the unwavering commitment to putting the horse at the centre of everything we do — make this partnership a natural fit. We look forward to supporting the Academy members and the wider community by sharing insights and knowledge that will help nurture the next generation of equestrians.”
Agria introduced lifetime equine policies to Ireland last year, providing horse owners with peace of mind and protection against unexpected veterinary costs. Crucially, claiming for a particular ailment or illness on an Agria Lifetime policy (providing it did not exist before the policy was taken out) does not result in it being excluded in the future, thus benefitting animal welfare.
