Alpcot Agro AB (publ) has appointed Ulf Scholander, 56, as managing director of the Company and the Group. He will assume the position tomorrow Thursday 10 January.

Ulf Scholander has until recently worked as MD of the Russian operations of Stena Metall. Since 2001 he has held several different positions within Stena Metall in Russia and Eastern Europe. He has earlier worked at SKF, since 1990 in different managing positions in Russia and Eastern Europe. Ulf Scholander holds an MSc in Engineering from Linköping Institute of Technology. He speaks fluent Russian and is a graduate of the Language and Intelligence School of the Swedish Armed Forces.

Fredrik Langenskiöld, chairman of the board of Alpcot Agro, comments:

”The appointment of a new managing director for the group is a natural development of Alpcot Agro entering a new phase. Since the company was founded, Alpcot Agro’s center of gravity has been the Russian business. Just about a year ago we acquired Landkom which increased the size of our Ukraine operations several times over. This has led to new challenges in relation to coordination on a group level and operational administration, management and control in Ukraine. Our present MD Jens Peter Aabyen will remain in the company as responsible for the Russian operations. Our new group MD will focus particularly on Ukraine.”

“Jens Peter has made a very good job and has built up a professional organization in Russia, which he will continue to work with.”

Ulf Scholanders appointment as managing director is likely to be limited to a term of a maximum of one year. The board of directors is working on a more long term solution.
