Sustainable saving has now started for real. Since its launch in January 2018, Proethos has set out to make sustainable savings as simple and inexpensive as possible. With 5,000 new investors over the last six months, this mission has certainly started to materialize. Since the turn of the year, the Proethos Fund has returned + 39% to its investors. Inflow to the fund has increased by 50% per month over the past 6 months.

Proethos is a UCITS-fund managed by AIFM Capital AB, a subsidiary of AIFM Group. The fund is managed by Magnus Alfredsson, who is also the founder of Proethos. Alfredsson worked in asset management and private banking for 17 years but grew tired of selling products he himself would not buy. He decided to offer an alternative: a fund that is sustainable, lucrative, and affordable to the average investor.

Proethos invests long-term in companies in four different areas, all of which play a crucial role in combating climate change: Renewable energy, energy-efficient solutions, sustainable transport and sustainable lifestyles.

“We are investing in the solution to the climate crisis.”- Magnus Alfredsson

With a management fee of 0.65%, Proethos can already, with good conscience, call itself affordable. It is not uncommon for investors to pay double, or even more, for a fund with or without some kind of "sustainable" certification. That being said, Alfredsson still believes that Proethos can become even more affordable.

“As the fund grows, we can enjoy economies of scale, which in turn mean we can lower fees. The more investors, the larger the amount managed, the cheaper for everyone. That's my vision,” says Magnus Alfredsson. “The fund's next target is passing 25,000 investors. Then we will launch the fund in our Nordic neighboring countries,” says Alfredsson, who estimates that the milestone will be reached in 8-10 months.
