AIFM Group in extended cooperation with Hypoteket.

Hypoteket, Sweden's first mortgage lender that is completely independent of the banks, has extended its license and with that, its cooperation with AIFM Group ("AIFM"). Hypoteket’s success in the Swedish mortgage market means that by the end of 2019, they applied to become an authorized AIF-manager. In connection with this, Hypoteket has chosen AIFM as provider of risk management services.

AIFM's collaboration with Hypoteket has taken various forms since 2015. "It has been a pleasure to follow Dag and Carl Johan at Hypoteket since they first started sketching plans for a mortgage fund. When someone breaks new ground, the road to success is never straight, but it is both impressive and inspiring to see determined entrepreneurs take their product to market" says Johan Björkholm, Deputy CEO of AIFM's fund company.

When Hypoteket launched its first mortgage fund, AIFM provided portfolio management services. This continued with the second mortgage fund and subsequently, AIFM also gained the trust to provide advice in relation to Hypoteket Fondförvaltning’s AIFM application. Dag Wardaeus, CEO of Hypoteket Fondförvaltning and co-founder of Hypoteket, thinks that AIFM was a natural choice. "AIFM has been with us for many years now and has a great understanding of our business and operations," says Dag.

In connection with Hypoteket Fondförvaltning submitting its application to the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, AIFM was appointed as external risk management function. Thus, the cooperation between AIFM and Hypoteket continues. "The success story of Hypoteket is now entering the next phase of the journey to change and improve the Swedish mortgage market and it is great for us at AIFM to get renewed trust and to follow along on the continued journey," says Johan Björkholm at AIFM.
