AIFM Group launches new “eSports Fund.”
AIFM Group has formally announced the launch of a new fund – “eSports Fund” – an actively managed equity fund that provides investors a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the world of eSports and the broader gaming industry. The fund invests globally in companies operating in the fields of eSports, gaming, game development, and subcontractors to these companies.
The world of eSports and gaming is showing exponential growth globally with distinctively strong user engagement, and therefore offering increasingly rewarding investment opportunities. Newzoo, the leading global market research firm within the eSports and gaming industry, predicts that eSports, in conjunction with the rest of the gaming industry, will turn over more money than traditional sports as early as 2021. According to Newzoo's calculations, eSports alone will have a turnover of $1.7 billion USD in 2021.
The eSports Fund portfolio will be managed by distinguished asset manager Stefan Westin, who has more than 30 years of experience in Private Banking and Portfolio Management in both Sweden and internationally. Westin holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from Stockholm University with supplementary studies in economics.
Westin sees the fund as an attractive investment for those who would like to take part in the fast-growing gaming and eSports markets. “Our view is that the companies’ valuations are backed up by strong fundamentals in the sector,” says Westin:
