Leading aircraft charter specialist, Air Charter Service, has been extensively involved with transporting the necessary equipment for the Iraqi elections that took place last month.

Since as early as last year, just before the regional elections, the company has performed more than twenty charters carrying ballot papers, ballot boxes, ink and promotional material for the contenders, amounting to well over 1,000 tons of cargo in total.

Justin Bowman, CEO at Air Charter Service, commented: “Our Turkish and Dubai operations arranged charters for election materials to be flown in from the Far East and the Middle East to a range of destinations including Baghdad, Basra and Erbil. And we performed the first ever landing of a widebody freighter into Al Najaf when we took a B777 there last year. We also used A330s and B747s for the loads.”

Air Charter Service has been involved in many elections in the past; this year alone they include the South African, Indian, German and provincial Canadian elections.
