airBaltic winter timetable starts with more destinations and flights
Stockholm, 24 October 2006: During winter traffic season (October 29, 2006 - March 24, 2007) the Latvian airline, member of SAS group, airBaltic is increasing flight frequency and number of destinations, thus allowing for more convenient transit flights from Sweden via Riga to number of destinations. In Sweden airBaltic offers flights Stokholm – Riga and Vilnius; Gothenburg -Riga. In all, this winter airBaltic will operate 33 direct flights from Riga and 12 from Vilnius, as well as direct flight between Kaliningrad and Copenhagen.
“In creating the winter timetable we have largely based our decisions on our passengers’ requests. This season we will increase frequency on the most popular current routes, as well as offer new destinations - Zurich and Gothenburg. We are convinced that our passengers will be pleased by our lower ticket prices, which will make airBaltic services accessible to an ever-increasing segment of the population,” airBaltic president Bertolt Flick said.
Major changes in the winter timetable from Riga are connected with the opening of airBaltic’s new destinations. On 29th October the airline opened flights to Zurich and Gothenborg, to be operated three times per week. Cooperation between airBaltic and Uzbekistan Airways will give passengers access to flights on the Riga - Tashkent route.
Flight frequencies will be increased on a number of routes from Riga. Flights to Stochkolm airBaltic will operate three daily flights by adding an afternoon flight. This winter airBaltic increase the number of direct flights from Riga to St.Petersburg eleven flights weekly and flights to Tbilisi will be increased to three times per week. This increase of the lights will provide for more convenient connections for travelers from Sweden via Riga to Tbilisi (one-way ticket from SEK 1865) and St. Petersburg (one-way ticket from SEK 1949). This winter, airBaltic will increase the number of flights to Berlin from daily to double daily.
The winter season also brings changes to the airBaltic ticket prices on direct flights from Stockholm or Gothenburg to Riga the new starting price of SEK 295* one way. Tickets at this price level available only on the airBaltic website, www.airbaltic.lv.

The airBaltic fleet consists of sixteen aircraft: seven Boeing 737-500s and nine Fokker-50s. airBaltic operates direct flights from two Baltic capitals: Riga (33 routes) and Vilnius (12 routes), as well as direct flight between Kaliningrad and Copenhagen.
