AirForestry Triumphs as Winner of Norrsken and Atomico's Impact/100 People's Vote and Joins Prestigious Creative Destruction Lab
Uppsala – AirForestry, a pioneering force in reinventing forestry, continues to gather accolades, most notably being crowned the winner of the Norrsken Impact/100 People's Vote. This impressive achievement follows their recognition in the Impact/100’s top 10 by Atomico, and their selection for and completion of the Norrsken Accelerator program in Stockholm. Their journey doesn't stop here; they have now been selected to join the renowned global startup scaling program - Creative Destruction Lab.
“We are truly honored to win the Norrsken Impact/100 People's Vote. This award reinforces our determination to push forward with our product development and leave a lasting positive footprint on our environment,” said Olle Gelin, CEO and Cofounder of AirForestry. “Our mission is clear: to make the world's forests more beautiful, productive, and resilient.”
"Norrsken is proud to be backing Airforestry. The Impact/100 is compiled from nearly 1 000 nominations from 30 of the world's most prominent impact VCs and non-profits. Making it into the list, not to mention winning the people's vote, is a huge achievement." - Funda Sezgi, co-CEO, Norrsken Foundation
Their recent accolades add to an impressive list. From presenting at global stages like Slush, being spotlighted on NyTeknik's esteemed 33-list, securing a Top 3 spot at the Nordic Cleantech Open, to being hailed as a top innovator for forests by the World Economic Forum, to bagging the Techarenan Business Award in Almedalen. The AirForestry logo was showcased in Times Square!
AirForestry is grateful to our sponsors, including Vinnova, Vattenfall and Sveaskog. "Your support is important. Early deep tech financing and close customer cooperation is so important to build companies that can scale to solve the climate and biodiversity challenges we face. We hope to inspire more organizations to tackle the planet's pressing challenges." - Caroline Walerud, Executive Chairman and CoFounder of AirForestry.
Looking ahead, AirForestry is embarking on a journey with Creative Destruction Lab, one of the globe's premier startup programs known for supercharging science-based companies. Joining the Oxford Climate Stream at Saïd Business School, they will join other deep tech companies addressing pressing climate challenges. The program promises rigorous mentorship sessions with top tech investors and elite business school students, setting the stage for AirForestry to, as CDL’s motto goes, “BUILD SOMETHING MASSIVE”.
"We're very excited to have AirForestry join the CDL-Oxford Climate Cohort 23/24. Ecosystem health is a crucial but often overlooked part of tackling the climate crisis, so it's fantastic to see this innovative solution address environmental issues of forestry. We are looking forward to supporting the team on their path to massive scalability." - Niels Schneider, PhD, Senior Venture Manager, CDL-Oxford, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

The company's innovation makes it possible to run fossil-free, gentle and more productive forestry. We contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions from forest work while increasing the forest's ability to bind carbon.
