Aker Kvaerner brings preferred partner spirit to Offshore Europe 2007

04 September 2007 - Award winning technology, world class rankings, local community engagement and spirited presentations dominate Aker Kvaerner's showing at the Offshore Europe Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition (OE 2007).  The 2007 conference is  taking place today through 7 September at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre in Aberdeen (AECC).


Visitors to Aker Kvaerner's stand (# 453) will experience the company's Preferred Partner vision:
  • Preferred Supplier: Aker Kvaerner has over the last year been awarded the ONS innovation award for the Multibooster subsea boosting technology and OTC Spotlight on New Technology Awards for the SeaBooster(TM) and the PowerTrac® Cone Crusher(TM).  These award winning technologies and a number of other models showcasing exciting products and services are integrated into the stand design.
  • Preferred Employer: Aker and the Aker companies achieved the top score (outstanding) and were ranked the most attractive workplace of the world's 600 largest companies in the Reputation Institute's Global RepTrak(TM) Pulse 2007.   • Preferred Neighbour: Aker Kvaerner's Values Driven Business 2006/2007 report is now available. This year's report describes in some detail the work the company does in corporate responsibility. Aker Kvaerner in Aberdeen has signed an agreement with Kingswells School and Bankhead Academy to develop pupils' interest in design and technology throughout their primary and secondary school education. The initiative is called "Determined to Succeed".  Student artworks displaying their vision for the future of energy decorate the meeting room at the Aker Kvaerner stand.  The secondary school children will be visiting the Aker Kvaerner stand during Offshore Europe week.
In addition, four times a day a group of professional dancers in Aker Kvaerner "costumes" are performing to the company's "Nutcracker" theme music. The performance is based on Aker Kvaerner's award winning Norwegian commercial - a commercial designed to entice students to choose the industrial sciences as their field of study.


As part of the conference, Aker Marine Contractors will present a technical paper on Aker Kvaerner's Pencil Buoy Method on 7 September at 10.30 AM.  Henrik Mork, and Johannes Lunde will describe how The patented Pencil Buoy method provides safer, more cost efficient transport and installation of subsea structures.


Offshore Europe (OE) is the largest oil & gas conference and exhibition outside North America. A truly global audience of engineers, technical specialists and industry leaders gather to source and discuss new exploration and production technology, to debate new ideas and to discover the solutions that will deliver sustainable oil and gas in the future. This year's Exhibition and Conference is expected to be the biggest in the event's history with over 32 000 attendees.
