Aker Kvaerner launches rapid subsea tree solution

4 September 2007 - Aker Kvaerner launches the RapidSolutionTM - a pre-configured tree system that aims to provide a complete accelerated solution within a fraction of the traditional system lead times. RapidSolutionTM will be ready for delivery from Q3 2008.

RapidSolutionTM is a complete subsea tree system based on Aker Kvaerner Subsea's standard configurable tree (SCTTM). The new solution is built specifically for smaller subsea developments and tie-backs when developing resources close to existing offshore installations. The solution consists of proven standard stock components from the SCTTM, iConTM subsea control module and SB 18 ¾" wellhead system.

"We are reducing lead times as well as project risks and costs by utilising field proven configured components for this system. Our objective is a six-month delivery period," said John Macleod, vice president - trees, Aker Kvaerner Subsea, at the launch of the RapidSolutionTM at Offshore Europe in Aberdeen, UK.

The development of RapidSolutionTM also mirrors Aker Kvaerner's ambition to grab a larger slice of the global stand-alone tree market.

"The standard components provide a high degree of predictability with regards to execution, manufacturing and delivery. This is supported by dedicated stocking programmes that eliminate supply lead times. Both Aker Kvaerner Subsea and our customers will benefit from this," added Macleod.

The RapidSolutionTM has already been slotted into Aker Kvaerner Subsea's 2008 manufacturing programmes. The system will be ready for delivery from Q3 2008.

Aker Kvaerner Subsea will this week be at stand number 453 at Offshore Europe in Aberdeen, UK.
