For Kvaerner Pulping the Itata order includes two complete fiberlines, one hardwood (eucalyptus) and one softwood line (pine). The total capacity is 856,000 tonnes bleached kraft pulp per year.

"This contract strengthens our position as a supplier of high-technology equipment and services to the world-wide pulp industry," says Per-Åke Färnstrand, president of Kvaerner Pulping.

"The order is also a confirmation that our considerable R&D investments result in competitive products, such as COMPACT COOKING(TM) and COMPACT PRESS(TM), with an actual effect on our customers' products and productivity. This encourages us to further emphasize our R&D operations."

The delivery is on an engineering, procurement and supervision (EPS) basis. Kvaerner Pulping AB will do engineering and all core equipment will be produced at the Kvaerner Kamfab workshop, both units located in Karlstad, Sweden.

The evaporation plant, with a capacity of 1060 tonnes evaporated water per hour will be supplied by Kvaerner Power.
