Aker Kvaerner restructures Oil, Gas, Process and Energy business area

The OGPE business area, managed from Houston, Texas, USA currently comprised of fifteen individual business units spread out over seven time zones with operations in North and South America, Australia, and in several countries in Asia Pacific will now be consolidated and managed beneath six defined Business Streams.  The new structure will streamline the organization and enhance customer delivery as it leverages core competencies throughout the organization.


Jim Miller, currently Senior Vice President, Engineering and Construction related businesses will have the following business streams reporting to him:
 
Aker Kvaerner Metals, delivering full range EPC services to global mining and minerals companies including the business units of Aker Kvaerner Metals USA, Aker Kvaerner Metals Chile, Aker Kvaerner Metals Toronto


Aker Kvaerner Construction, delivers direct hire construction services through specialized subsidiary companies in the Oil, Gas & Process, Metals, and Power sectors including the business units of Aker Kvaerner Songer and Aker Kvaerner Industrial Constructors

Aker Kvaerner Chemetics, delivering focused technology serving the metals and pulping industries in the areas of bleach chemicals, chlor-alkali, and sulphuric acid which includes the business unit of Aker Kvaerner Chemetics

Aker Kvaerner Asia Pacific, delivering a diverse range of EPC services capitalizing on the emerging growth Oil, Gas & Process, Metals, offshore MMO markets of the future including the business units of Aker Kvaerner South East Asia, Aker Kvaerner China, Aker Kvaerner Australia and Aker Kvaerner PowerGas India


Aker Kvaerner Facility Services, offering onshore and offshore facility services focused on a delivery of high value services and solutions including the business units of Aker Kvaerner Plant Services, Aker Kvaerner Public Sector, Aker Kvaerner Pharmaceuticals, Aker Kvaerner Bowen and Aker Kvaerner Caribe
 
Aker Kvaerner Oil, Gas and Process, focusing on EPC capital projects and technology solutions to oil, gas, and process clients which includes the business unit of Aker Kvaerner Incorporated


Gary Mandel states, "this major change will make our business more focused and will further simplify the OGPE organization as it allows us to lay the foundation for a strong future, the six business streams will focus us more on what we have in common and enable us to leverage resources and centres of excellence."


OGPE has the largest geographical footprint in Aker Kvaerner and is the most complex of the six business areas in the Aker Kvaerner group of companies. The restructuring will simplify and streamline the organization enabling growth in the business and better focus on customer delivery while creating operating improvements
