Aker Kvaerner wins nickel plant modification project
The new assignment includes the design and procurement management of a sulphide concentrate drying system and a sulphur dioxide (SO2) and soot removal gas cleaning system.
Aker Kvaerner will provide advisory services during installation and commissioning. These services will also include assistance from Empressa Ernesto Che Guevara's preferred dryer manufacturer, Kvaerner Eureka, a company that is also part of the Aker Kvaerner Group.
Malcolm Oliver, President of AK Engineering Services, said: "This award follows on from several successful nickel projects undertaken by Aker Kvaerner in Cuba, executed over a number of years. Our ability to utilise in-house technology on this project enables us to deliver a very comprehensive and integrated solution."
The project is scheduled to commence in August 2003 and will take approximately 12 months to complete.
