Aker Solutions secures contracts for deck machinery
4 June 2009 - Aker Solutions has been awarded three contracts for the supply of deck machinery to a total of 34 vessels. The total value of the contracts for Aker Solutions is approximately MNOK 100.
The contract awards are from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), Korea, and Dalian Shipyard, China, for the supply of Pusnes electric deck machinery(TM) and Pusnes hydraulic deck machinery(TM), respectively. The HHI contract consists of state-of-the-art frequency controlled electric deck machinery for 4.500 TEU container carriers ordered by a major European ship owner. Aker Solutions recently secured another order from HHI for the supply of deck machinery to six 22.500 CBM LPG/NH3 carriers for the same owner.
The two contracts from Dalian Shipyard consist of high-pressure Pusnes hydraulic deck machinery(TM) for 298.000 DWT VLCC's and 76.000 DWT petroleum carriers ordered by various ship owners. With these two contracts, the number of VLCC's and petroleum carriers from Dalian to be fitted with Aker Solutions deck machinery totals 26 vessels and 23 vessels, respectively.
