Aker Solutions signs on for next phase at Mindoro Nickel

4 February 2009 - Intex Resources ASA has extended its contract with Aker Solutions as preferred partner for the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) for Stage 1 of the Mindoro Nickel Project. Located on the island of Mindoro, approximately 200 km south of Manila, the Mindoro Nickel Project is Intex Resources' main asset. The ore body is a large deposit of nickel laterite containing over two million tonnes of nickel and 150 000 tonnes of Cobalt.

Since postponing work on the feasibility study in 2008, pending detailed testwork findings, Intex Resources has been provided with encouraging metallurgical results from extensive pilot plant testing. Intex Resources is now proceeding with work on the DFS for Stage 1 of the project, with Aker Solutions as engineering partner.

The scope of the AUD5 million study covers the concept design and capital cost estimate of the complete process plant and ancillary facilities required for a remote green field site.

Aker Solutions has a long history of involvement in the Mindoro Nickel Project and extensive knowledge of the High Pressure Acid Leaching (HPAL) technology involved, and is pleased to build on the existing good relationship with Intex Resources.

Intex Resources ASA is a mining and exploration company headquartered in Oslo, Norway, and is the developer of the Mindoro Nickel Project.

Aker Solutions Australia Pty Ltd is the legal entity responsible for the execution of the contract.
