11 October 2006 - Aker Kvaerner has been awarded a further contract to supply equipment for the white liquor production at Iggesund Paperboard's mill, Iggesunds, in Sweden. The order forms part of the completion of the new white liquor plant at the pulp and paperboard mill.

Kvaerner Pulping, part of the Aker Kvaerner group, will supply a lime mud filter including engineering, procurement and construction services. The lime mud filter, together with a new lime kiln supplied by Aker Kvaerner's partner FFE Minerals, will mark the completion of the new white liquor plant at Iggesund. The first phase of the project reached completion in September 2003, when new equipment supplied and installed by Aker Kvaerner became operational.

"All in all, Aker Kvaerner's advanced technology, and proven project execution capabilities and experience offered us the most cost-efficient and reliable solution," says Bo Skogkvist, Project Manager at Iggesund Mill.

"In many aspects, particularly in terms of environmental care, Iggesund Mill is a forerunner in its field, so it is a strategically important order for Aker Kvaerner," says Joakim Johannesson, Vice President at Kvaerner Pulping. "The order also further strengthens our cooperation with FFE Minerals, with whom we have worked on a variety of successful projects worldwide."

The new equipment is scheduled to start up in the third quarter of 2007.
