Aker ASA: Acquisition of Real Estate at Fornebu outside Oslo

Aker ASA has today entered into an agreement with Fornebu Utvikling ASA in whichAker ASA, or any designated group company, will acquire 90 000 sqm of land plotfor development at Fornebu outside Oslo for a total consideration of NOK 780million. The price paid by Aker is in line with other recent transactions in theOslo West Area.

- We are acquiring one of the most attractive properties in the Oslo area. Akerhas experience from previous real estate investments. We look forward todeveloping the area in a holistic way. Aker companies already have significantoperations at Fornebu and in the Oslo area, says Aker ASA President and CEOØyvind Eriksen

The area acquired is generally referred to as "Fornebu Porten" ("the Gate toFornebu") and covers both the development of residential and office units and isone of very few areas in the vicinity of Oslo that is still available for largescale development. Today, the area is regulated for 98 000 sqm for residentialpurposes and office buildings, where of a significant share will be businessestate.Aker management views the acquisition and the development of the area as afinancial investment and it will be included and reported in the FinancialInvestment portfolio going forward. Aker is in ongoing dialogue with banks andexpects to part debt finance the acquisition.
