AKER BIOMARINE AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

In the first three months of the year, 17.4 percent of Aker BioMarine`s krill harvest was processed into first-class krill meal; the company`s projections were a 13-percent yield.

- The high yield demonstrates that Aker BioMarine` technology and production methods are excellent. Provided this high level is sustained, krill meal production will exceed planned output by 30-40 percent, says Aker BioMarine President and CEO Helge Midttun.

Aker BioMarine had revenues of NOK 137 million in the first quarter of 2007. Operating profit before depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) was NOK 7 million, compared to NOK 18 million in the first quarter of 2006. The Antarctic (Krill) business area had a first-quarter 2007 EBITDA of NOK 2 million, up from NOK -5 million in the first quarter of 2006.

Slow fishing of SBW off the coast of Argentina and thereby 20 percent lower surimi production in the first three months of 2007 contributed to the decline in Aker BioMarine`s revenues and operating profit in the first quarter of 2007, compared with the corresponding 2006 reporting period.

- Our targeting of krill confirms promising industrial development. Aker BioMarine has already taken substantial strides in building a marine biotechnology company, specializing in delivering high-value ingredients via an optimized value chain from harvesting to customer, says Midttun.

Listing of Aker BioMarine shares on the Oslo Stock Exchange is scheduled for 5 June 2007.
