The sale of Aktia Non-Life Insurance to Folksam and Veritas has been confirmed
On 29 February 2012 Aktia sold 51% of the shares in Aktia Non-Life Insurance to Folksam General and 15% of the shares to Veritas Pension Insurance. Further, Folksam has received an option to buy an additional 24% of the shares in Aktia Non-Life Insurance in 3 years.
Aktia continues to sell non-life insurance under the Aktia label and pension insurance under the Veritas label as part of the company's customer solutions. Folksam is the main owner of the non-life insurance company, conducting insurance production.
The financial effects for Aktia Group of the transaction will be published during March when the balance sheet of Aktia Non-life insurance Ltd for the time of transfer has been accepted.
The Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority has approved Folksam and Veritas as new owners of the non-life insurance company.
