THE HOLDING OF FÖRENINGSSPARBANKEN IN AKTIA SAVINGS BANK BELOW 20%

Aktia Savings Bank Plc has been informed that through a sale of shares executed
today 21 December 2004, FöreningsSparbanken AB (publ) has reduced its
shareholding from 8,600,000 shares to 7,000,000 shares of the total number of
Aktia Savings Bank Plc shares of 35,258,050, therefore now holding 19.85% of
shares and voting rights.

The largest shareholder of Aktia Savings Bank Plc is the Helsingfors Savings Bank
Foundation with its 20.5% holding.
