International Maling AS changes name to Akzo Nobel Coatings AS

Norwegian paint company International Maling AS has been a part of the global leading paint company AkzoNobel since 1998. From 1 October 2013 the name is also visible when the company also takes the name of the parent company. The new name is Akzo Nobel Coatings AS, Marine & Protective Coatings division. The division manufactures e.g. yacht and marine coatings as well as industrial protective coatings.

The background to the name change is a restructuring of a number of AkzoNobel companies in Norway. The restructuring was done in September 2013 and International Maling AS then acquired all paint activities in Norway, including the brand Nordsjö. Simultaneously the AkzoNobel contruction activities Casco were sold to Sika, now named Casco Schønox Norway AS. In conjunction with this process, International Maling AS that has been on the Norwegian market for since 1907, changed its name to Akzo Nobel Coatings AB. Only the company name is changte, organisation and VAT numbers remain the same.

Coatings that protect infrastructure, buildings and ships

Akzo Nobel Coatings AS division Marine & Protective Coatings activities comprise Yatch Coatings, Protective Coatings samt Marine Coatings. These three branches will still be important Norwegian suppliers of antifouling and yacht paint, marine antifoulings with antifriction for the marine industry and a reliable supplier of high technology protective coatings and fire protection coatintgs to the industry. The public can see the company products on many objects such as the Svinesund bridge, the brand new cruiser Norweigan Breakaway and the oild field Edvard Grieg (see photo of jacket for oil rig at Edward Grieg), all coated with products from AkzoNobel Coatings AS, Marine & Protective Coatings..
