Akzo Nobel appoints Senior Vice President Human Resources Arnhem, the Netherlands, September 19, 2003 - Akzo Nobel has appointed Paul L. Matson (54) as Senior Vice President of Human Resources to succeed Olle Werner who will retire this month. Mr. Matson will take up his new post on October 1, 2003, and will report to Hans Wijers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Akzo Nobel. A U.S. citizen with extensive experience with operations in Europe and Asia, Mr. Matson has 30 years of business experience covering all aspects of the human resources field.
