Alelion contracts patent agent for strategic review of Energy Management patent portfolio

Report this content

In March 2018, Alelion acquired the assets of Caterva, including its patent portfolio. Caterva was an Energy Management company which had received investments totaling MSEK 140 from Siemens and other investors.

The patent portfolio comprises 17 patents, three of which are pending. The patents cover many aspects of the management of distributed energy storage systems.

Following the rapid market growth in electrified vehicles and VW’s recently announced concept to utilize vehicles as mobile energy storage facilities, our patent portfolio has become all the more relevant. We are thus looking to once again conduct a strategic review of the technology and the patents.

Alelion’s refocused strategic orientation entails, among other things, an increased IPR effort.
