Alelion receives another follow-up order from the global special vehicle manufacturer Terberg Group worth SEK 8 million.
The order is the third follow-up order from Terberg Group and the fourth since the two companies signed a cooperation agreement in 2018.
The new order, worth SEK 8 million, will be delivered during the first half of 2021. As earlier announced the orders include a service agreement. Terberg's previous orders are already produced in Alelion's battery factory in Gothenburg and will be delivered during the first and second quarter of 2021.
Alelion Energy Systems develops and manufactures customized lithium-ion battery systems, which replace fossil fuels in various types of special vehicles. In collaboration with Terberg Group, Alelion has developed a battery system for electric terminal tractors, which is used for transport at distribution hubs, port terminals, airports and in industries.
"Demand for series-produced battery systems in the special vehicle segment is increasing and we see that the change from fossil fuel operation to sustainable electric propulsion has now really picked up speed," says Åsa Nordström, CEO of Alelion Energy Systems.
Terberg Group is the world's largest independent manufacturer of special vehicles with its own operations in twelve countries. The products include terminal and Ro-Ro tractors.
Alelion Energy Systems began its collaboration with Terberg Group in the autumn of 2018 when the company received a first order for the development of two battery systems adapted to Terberg's special vehicles.
The battery systems have been certified in accordance with legal requirements R100 and R10.
In recent years, Alelion Energy Systems has increased its investments in more advanced high-voltage battery systems for special vehicles. The company has received a number of important orders in the segment, including the Swedish construction machine manufacturer Huddig. Several of these customers are now carrying out tests in the product, which is the phase that precedes certification and the start of series production.
