Alelion receives follow-up order from global special vehicle manufacturer Terberg Group worth 8 MSEK
Alelion Energy Systems has received a follow-up order for high voltage batteries from the global special vehicle manufacturer Terberg Group worth 8 MSEK for delivery during 2021. This order is a follow-up to the cooperation agreement and the order from Terberg communicated in October 2018. Along with this order Terberg has also given notice to proceed with battery systems from the original order for delivery during the fourth quarter of this year, which will then have a positive cash flow impact of approximately 5 MSEK.
The battery systems will be used for electrification of several of Terberg Group’s vehicles both in purely battery-electric applications and in combination with fuel cells. Alongside the order now placed for 8 MSEK a service agreement has also been signed. This includes training Terberg staff so that they can offer customer close service of the battery systems. Terberg Group is one of the world’s biggest independent manufacturers of special vehicles operating in twelve countries. Their products include terminal tractors, trucks for airports and ports as well as transhipment terminals.
“Terberg is now proactively investing in electrifying an increasingly large part of their vehicle fleet and this is a great quality proof for us that we have been able to meet their high demands and we look forward to the vehicles now starting to reach the market”, says Åsa Nordström, CEO Alelion Energy Systems.
Alelion Energy Systems started working with Terberg Group in autumn 2018 when the company received the first order to develop two high voltage battery systems adapted to Terberg’s special vehicles. Together with this order Alelion also received an order for battery systems to be delivered in 2018 and 2019 and the total order value then communicated was 13 MSEK. The development work that has since continued has now resulted in two battery systems specially adapted for Terberg’s needs and both of which are certified in accordance with the legal requirements R100 and R10.
Since cooperation with Terberg began in autumn 2018, Alelion Energy Systems has increased investments in more advanced high voltage battery systems for special vehicles. The company has since then also received several important orders within the segment, including from the Swedish construction machinery manufacturer Huddig. Several of these clients are now conducting tests in product, which is the phase preceding certification and start of serial production.
