Alelion receives major order for high-voltage battery systems worth MSEK 38 from global special vehicle manufacturer Terberg Group
The order from Terberg Group is the largest since series production commenced about 12 months ago. This order secures the production planning in step with Terberg's delivery schedule.
The new order is worth approximately SEK 38 million and will be delivered in the second half of 2022. The order also includes a service agreement.
Terberg's previous order is already being produced in Alelion’s battery factory in Gothenburg. Series production of these high-voltage batteries commenced in the fourth quarter of 2020 when the new electrified terminal tractor was launched on the market. Since then, Terberg has produced vehicles for customer evaluation, and demand has proven to be strong. Terberg’s EV series has been well received and has resulted in several follow-up orders.
"The order is a confirmation of long-term cooperation, which is needed in times of strong order intake and when production reliability is essential. Our production rate is rising due to the strong interest in electrified vehicles, and a long-term view is a prerequisite for securing supplies in 2022, says Åsa Nordström, CEO of Alelion Energy Systems.
Alelion Energy Systems develops and manufactures battery systems with lithium-ion batteries, which replace fossil fuels in various types of special vehicles. In cooperation with Terberg Group, Alelion has developed a battery system for electrified terminal tractors used for transportation in distribution centres, port terminals, airports and industries.
Terberg is one of the world’s largest independent special vehicle manufacturers, with own operations in twelve countries. The product portfolio includes terminal tractors and RoRo tractors.
In recent years, Alelion Energy Systems has increased efforts in more advanced high-voltage battery systems for special vehicles. The Company has received a number of important orders in the segment and manufactures a wide range of battery systems between 48 and 700 volts.
