WYNNEWOOD, PA –Just in time for the summer and “lemonade season,” Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is inviting volunteers across the country to join the battle against childhood cancer in June. Whether it’s hosting an Alex’s Lemonade Stand during the foundation’s national fundraising weekend, Lemonade Days (June 10-12, 2011), supporting the foundation through visiting one of its many sponsor fundraisers, or attending one of the foundation’s signature events, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is on a mission to raise millions of dollars for childhood cancer throughout the month of June.
Lemonade Days
From Friday, June 10 – Sunday, June 12, thousands of volunteers will host Alex’s Lemonade Stands from coast to coast during National Lemonade Days weekend. Evolving from Alexandra “Alex” Scott’s mission to raise $1 million in 2004, over 10,000 volunteers will hold 2,000 lemonade stands spanning from small towns to large metropolitan areas during this fundraising weekend. Utilizing Alex’s original fundraising idea, these lemonade stands will provide a fun and easy way for children, family, friends, businesses and organizations to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer while learning the important lesson of giving back.

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $40 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 200 pediatric cancer research projects nationally.
About Lemonade Days:
Founded by Alex Scott (1996-2004) in 2004, Lemonade Days is a three day national event that grew out of Alex's front yard lemonade stand, and is held every year over the same June weekend. During Lemonade Days, dedicated volunteers host thousands of Alex's Lemonade Stands across the country, raising over $1 million for childhood cancer research in one weekend. June 2011 will mark the 8th Annual Lemonade Days with an estimated 10,000 volunteers at over 2,000 Alex’s Lemonade Stands around the nation making a difference for children with cancer. Lemonade Days 2011 is set for June 10, 11 and 12!
