“Tranter is a well managed company that will strengthen our global presence. Additionally we have seen a positive development in Tranter during 2005, says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group.”

Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – has completed the acquisition of Tranter. Tranter is a well-known company and a premium brand in the design and production of plate heat exchangers for a wide range of applications. The company had a turnover in 2005 of about SEK 900 million and has approximately 470 employees globally in R&D, manufacturing and sales. Alfa Laval has paid approximately SEK 1.2 billion in cash. Mr. Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group, comments on the acquisition: “I’m very satisfied that we have been able to acquire Tranter. Tranter is a well managed company that will strengthen our global presence. Additionally we have seen a positive development in Tranter during 2005. That is why it’s natural that Tranter continues to be an independent channel to the market. In practice it means that they will offer their own product range under the Tranter brand through their own distribution network.” The sales of Tranter are equally divided between North America, Europe and the rest of the world. Key application areas are HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), Process industries and Marine. Tranter will be consolidated as of March 1 2006.
