Alfa Laval signs joint marketing agreement with Millipore Alfa Laval, a world leader in centrifugal separation, heat transfer and fluid handling, and Millipore Corporation, a multinational bioscience company, today announced a USA joint marketing agreement for Alfa Laval's high-speed biotechnology centrifuges and Millipore's multi-layer Millistak+® HC depth filters. This integration of equipment will allow the efficient recovery of biopharmaceutical proteins generated by cell culture and fermentation. "The first steps in drug recovery after a bioreactor are often the most challenging and require a series of centrifugation and filtration steps. By combining our knowledge with Millipore's we are able to offer our customers with an optimal solution for primary recovery," says Kirk Spitzer, President of Alfa Laval Inc. the U.S. subsidiary of the Alfa Laval Group. Under the terms of the agreement, each company will exclusively promote the other company's products to customers requiring centrifugation and depth filtration. Furthermore, this partnership encompasses assistance with sales activities, preparation and publication of technical articles, joint field- testing and customer demonstrations of this centrifugation and depth filtration combination. "The expertise from both companies will speed the drug development process and enhance customer process economics.
