Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – has won an order for heat exchanger systems to be used for district heating at a university in the US. The order is worth approximately SEK 70 million and delivery is scheduled to start in 2012 and be finalized in 2014.

The Alfa Laval heat exchanger systems, which include various heat exchangers, will be used in district heating substations for the university, to reduce the energy consumption of the domestic heat requirements for the campus. With Alfa Laval’s heat exchanger systems, it is possible to monitor and manage the climate and hot water temperatures at each building separately – ensuring maximum energy savings.

“Highly efficient heat exchangers are vital to build an environmentally sound and commercially viable district heating system,” says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group. “The order confirms our ability to supply reliable and efficient products and solutions for this duty.”

The district heating substations at the university will supply comfortable indoor climate and hot tap water to more than 8,000 students and staff, working, studying and living in the campus area.

Did you know that… in over the past 60 years Alfa Laval has performed half a million heating installations and over 10,000 cooling installations around the world?
