Alfa Laval wins SEK 95 million refinery order, for the largest heat exchanger so far

Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – has received an order from an Indian refinery for the largest Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchanger ever. The order value is about 95 MSEK and delivery is scheduled for 2011.

The Alfa Laval Packinox plate heat exchanger, with a height of 25 meters is the largest heat exchanger Alfa Laval has built so far, and it will be used in a catalytic reforming unit for the production of gasoline in an Indian refinery. “Two thirds of our large orders the last 6 months have included our unique Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers”, says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group. “It proves the unmatched performance of this unique product and the continuous investments in energy efficiency.” Did you know that… the largest Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchanger will weigh 450 tonnes, which corresponds to the weight of 83 Indian elephants?
