The Martin & Servera Group has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Alight. Under the terms of the agreement, the Group will source 40 percent of its electricity from the solar park, which will be built outside Skurup. Once online, the solar park will be the largest in Sweden.

Martin & Servera, Sweden’s leading restaurant and catering specialist, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the solar energy company Alight. Alight will build, own and operate the solar power plant, and Martin & Servera will buy the electricity that the plant produces.

– We are very pleased about our collaboration with Martin & Servera. Solar energy has enormous potential and is critical in transitioning to a fossil-free society, says Harald Överholm, CEO at Alight.

Martin & Servera, Sweden’s leading restaurant and catering specialist, has long worked to reduce the climate impact of its operations. The 15-year agreement will help the Group cut its electricity costs, reduce its environmental impact and shield the company against energy price volatility.

– This long-term agreement and collaboration with Alight are major steps towards realizing our dream of running a completely sustainable business while at the same time enjoying the benefits of reliable and predictable renewable energy, says Liv Forhaug, CEO, Martin & Servera.

Infranode, a Swedish infrastructure fund investing in sustainability and manages SEK 10 billion in the Nordic region with an investment horizon of at least 25 years, will be the investor of the solar park.

– This project is another milestone in our joint investment in solar energy with Alight, says Carl-Emil Lindholm, Director at Infranode.

The solar park in Skurup will begin producing electricity during spring 2022 and will supply 40 percent of Martin & Servera’s electricity in Sweden. The park will have an installed effect of 18 MW and an annual production of approximately 19 GWh.

– Signing an agreement with Martin & Servera makes it possible for us to build a new solar park outside Skurup. This will be the largest solar park in Sweden once it is brought online, says Harald Överholm, CEO of Alight.

E.ON will be responsible for connecting the solar park in Skurup to the electricity grid and the landowner is Näsbyholms Fideikommiss.
