Sir Robert McAlpine has placed an order with a value of approximately MSEK 51 with Alimak Group’s business area Industrial Equipment for BMU solutions to the 21 Moorfields building in London.

21 Moorfields is a 17-storey building that will be situated directly above Moorgate underground station and the western entrance to the Liverpool Street Crossrail station.

The building is developed by Landsec, for whom the Group has delivered solutions for several previous projects including Nova, One New Change, Zig Zag Building and Piccadilly Lights. In collaboration with Landsec, the principle contractor Sir Robert McAlpine placed the order with Alimak Group.

The solution includes a total of nine building maintenance access systems, a range of both CoxGomyl and Manntech units.

This is largest order received by Alimak Group’s BMU brands in the UK since the 2012 order for the Shard. It will be booked in business area Industrial Equipment in Q4 2019. The first BMU is expected to be installed in the beginning of 2021.

“This order showcases Alimak Group’ unique capability to deliver projects of this size which very few others can. As a market leader in vertical access solutions, we were able to provide the best solution for the intricate 21 Moorfields building through our wide range of BMUs. We also have a strong relationship with both the principle contractor, Sir Robert McAlpine, and the developer, Landsec, and I am pleased to continue our collaboration”, says Tormod Gunleiksrud, CEO Alimak Group.
