End-user of the steam generator tubes is NuScale Power a provider of proprietary and innovative advanced nuclear Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology, the first and only SMR to have its design certified by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. This is Alleima’s second order from the nuclear fabricator Doosan Enerbility for NuScale Power’s SMRs.

The order, placed by the Korean nuclear fabricator Doosan Enerbility, one of the major suppliers of nuclear power related facilities in the world, is for approximately 200 kilometers of steam generator tubes. The end-user of the steam generator tubes is NuScale Power. It was booked in the first quarter of 2025 and reported in the Tube division.

NuScale’s SMR is based on proven pressurized water-cooled reactor technology where Alleima’s current steam generator tubing alloys are used. As the first and only SMR to have its design certified by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, NuScale is well-positioned to serve diverse customers across the world by supplying nuclear energy for electrical generation, data centers, district heating, desalination, commercial-scale hydrogen production, and other process heat applications.

“We are thrilled to once again supply our steam generator tubes to Doosan Enerbility and NuScale Power. As this technique, based on pressurized water-cooled reactor technology, is closely linked to current nuclear technology, we see a great potential for significant growth in the coming years. Intensity in discussions regarding the supply of steam generator tubes for SMRs is increasing globally, and as a front runner in this field, we are in a good position for these future power projects,” says Nigel Haworth, President of Business Unit Energy, Tube division.

“We are delighted to be embarking on our journey towards successful deployment of the commercial SMR together with Alleima, as we highly value Alleima's extensive experience and market-proven products and solutions for steam generator tubes,“ says Jongdoo Kim, CEO of Doosan Enerbility’s Nuclear Business Group.

Doosan is a leading Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor offering a wide range of services ranging from the manufacturing of castings and forgings, power generation systems and desalination facilities to the construction of power plants.

NuScale Power Corporation is the industry-leading provider of proprietary and innovative advanced SMR nuclear technology. The company’s groundbreaking SMR technology is powered by the NuScale Power Module™, a small, safe, pressurized water reactor that can each generate 77 megawatts of electricity (MWe) or 250 megawatts thermal (gross) and can be scaled to meet customer needs through an array of flexible configurations up to 924 MWe (12 modules) of output.
