Allgon awarded in-building wireless communications contract in San Francisco Allgon has been awarded an in-building wireless coverage contract for the Moscone convention center in San Francisco. The contract covers a multi-carrier fiber-fed solution including operation and maintenance for 5 years. The system can carry cellular PCS and paging services and be upgraded to encompass existing wireless service providers in the area. The fiber optic repeater network distributes mobile radio signals from centrally located radio base stations. This type of multi-operator and multi-band systems is one of Allgon's areas of expertise. Seven service providers will eventually be able to carry all their traffic on approximately forty fiber optic repeaters with a passive multi-band antenna system covering 700 MHz to 2400 MHz.
