Allgon in exclusive repeater agreement with Telenor Norway's leading mobile operator, Telenor Mobile Communications (TMC), has appointed Allgon Systems, the global supplier of radio-based infrastructure solutions, as exclusive supplier of GSM repeaters. Continuing a five-year customer relationship, the agreement cements Allgon's position as one of the leading repeater suppliers in the competitive Norwegian wireless market. Allgon Systems will supply Telenor Mobile Communications (TMC) with standard and compact repeaters, band selective and channel selective repeaters, along with associated fibre optic coverage solutions. Also, the agreement includes installation services such as site survey, measuring, optimization and documentation. Allgon Systems' repeaters will cost- effectively complement Telenor's base stations by extending coverage in obstructive environment "blind spots", such as traffic tunnels and mountain valleys typically found in the Norwegian landscape. "The appointment of Allgon Systems as exclusive repeater supplier by a leading wireless service provider in the Nordic region is very important to us, and confirms the competence of our high quality repeater solutions" said Crister Fritzson, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Allgon Systems. Telenor was rewarded one of four UMTS-licences by the Norwegian frequency authority Post- og Teletilsynet (PT) in November 2000.
