Allgon selected as exclusive supplier of Tower Top Amplifiers to E-plus in Germany The German mobile telephone operator E-plus has selected Allgon as exclusive supplier of Tower Top Amplifiers (TTA). The agreement runs for 2 years and the expected amount of deliveries will amount to approximately USD 2 million during 1999. E-plus worked earlier with 3 suppliers of TTA, of which Allgon was one, but has now chosen to collaborate with one exclusive supplier. - It is Allgon's high quality and reliability that has led us to choose Allgon as our only supplier, says Mr. Weigand, Purchasing Manager at E-plus. - We have worked with E-plus for 2,5 years and we are pleased to receive this continued confidence, says Bengt Broman, President of Allgon System AB. Allgon will deliver TTAs for the DCS 1800 system throughout Germany. A TTA is an amplifier that improves the base station's ability to receive weak signals which leads to improved coverage and fewer dropped calls. Furthermore, the talktime of the mobile phones will be prolonged since it can work with lower output power, which in turn means longer time between battery charging. A TTA is mounted in a mast near the base station antenna. This makes heavy demands on the products environmental performance. Allgons unique hermetic compact design makes the product very reliable.
