Lars Spongberg appointed acting President and CEO The Board of Directors of Allgon and the company's President and CEO, Jan Edhäll, have agreed that Jan Edhäll will leave his position with the company. Lars Spongberg - who has already been working in an advisory capacity for the senior management team and the Board of Directors for the past month - will take over as acting President and CEO from the 29 January 2001. Jan Edhäll will continue as advisor the senior management team and the Board of Directors on a consultancy basis. "I came to Allgon to lead a rapid expansion of the company, but during the last year I have worked intensively to adapt the business to new conditions. At this stage, therefore, it feels natural to go on to new tasks and challenges. I remain convinced of Allgon's strong potential", says Jan Edhäll. Lars Spongberg will continue the work which has been initiated by Jan Edhäll in respect to streamlining the operations in the Allgon Systems and Allgon Mobile Communications business areas, and to quickly achieve profitability in Allgon Microwave and Wireless Solutions. All these efforts will help to attain the goal of creating a successful and strong Allgon. Lars Spongberg has substantial industrial and financial experience from Electrolux and Svenska Handelsbanken among other companies. He was Managing Director of the listed company Spectra Physics from 1996 to 1999. Mr Spongberg has since 1999 been an advisor to Nordic Capital. Lars Spongberg will devote appropriate time to Allgon and in addition continue as advisor to Nordic Capital.
