Wireless Solutions signs distribution agreement with RFI Elektronik GmbH The Swedish IT and telecom company, Wireless Solutions, which is included in the Allgon Group, signed a distribution agreement during the CeBIT Fair in Hanover with RFI Elektronik GmbH, which is the largest distributor of portable computers in Germany. The agreement means that all the products within the Bluetooth segment that RFI Elektronik are planning will initially be developed and supplied by Wireless Solutions. "This agreement confirms our leading position in Bluetooth products," says Pär Bergsten, President of Wireless Solutions. "The market for wireless Bluetooth solutions is as large as the number of computer cables which presently come out of all computers, telephones and hands-free sets in the world," he adds. In January 2000, Wireless Solutions received one of the world's first commercial orders for Bluetooth. The order referred to Bluetooth for portable computers, PC Cards (PCMCIA) and printer adapters and amounted to approximately SEK 6 million and the customer was RFI Elektronik. The collaboration is now strengthened still further with the distribution agreement. RFI Elektronik is owned by the German company, Lintec Computers, but will be demerged for a stockmarket introduction during 2000. RFI Elektronic is the largest distributor in Germany of portable computers. RFI Elektronik is the leading company in the Mobile Partners International conglomerate which means a considerable opportunity for Wireless Solutions to expose its products to large distributors in Europe.
