Adding to its cache of travel industry trophies, Allianz Global Assistance USA has won three Magellan Awards from Travel Weekly, the travel industry’s most influential national trade publication. The company has won two gold trophies and one silver trophy for its accomplishments in travel insurance technology and distribution.

The company received a gold trophy for its AgentMax travel insurance software and a gold trophy for its 2ndChance by MaxMail email marketing tool.  2ndChance by MaxMail also received a silver Magellan trophy.  All of the Magellan wins were in the Travel Agent/Agency Category.

The AgentMax software program is designed to help travel agents access and present Allianz Travel Insurance quickly and easily and includes the ability to email, print and save quotes and confirmations. It also offers a simple way to modify or cancel a policy directly from AgentMax, onscreen plan comparisons and robust reporting and administrative features, including the ability to customize the product display.

2ndChance by MaxMail is a new tool within AgentMax that allows travel agents to send clients a reminder about purchasing travel insurance.  MaxMail reminders are co-branded for the travel agent or agency and the product offering can be customized to best meet the customer’s needs.  The agent can also decide when an email or series of emails will be sent, coinciding with the client’s decision making process.

The Travel Weekly Magellan Awards honor the best in travel and salute outstanding travel professionals in a broad range of industry segments, including hotels and resorts, travel destinations, cruise lines, online travel services, airlines and airports, travel agents and agencies, tour operators, and car rental companies.

“We’re proud that our cutting edge distribution technology has received this recognition at the Magellan Awards,” said Christian Schlebusch, director of partner relations of Allianz Global Assistance USA. “We’re dedicated to creating the best tools to make offering travel insurance fast and simple for our travel agent partners, and we’re grateful that the judges have recognized our accomplishments.”

The Magellan Awards are judged and overseen by a one-of-a-kind panel of top travel professionals representing the best names and most accomplished leaders from the industry. In determining winners, entries do not compete with one another, instead they are judged against a standard of excellence based on the long experience of Travel Weekly. To uphold this high standard of excellence, a category may have multiple winners, or may have no winners at all.

“The creativity that travel industry marketers and designers display to inspire travel and enhance the travel experience continues to impress our expert judges and readers,” said Arnie Weissmann, editor in chief of Travel Weekly. “This year’s winners continue to raise the bar, establishing themselves as not just the most talented and creative people in the travel industry but among the most creative and talented of any industry.”
