Allianz Worldwide Partners Donates to Local and National Charities
Henrico-based Allianz Worldwide Partners USA has donated $44,000 to local and national charities. The company matched employee hurricane relief contributions to the American Red Cross and supported events that benefited the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Richmond-based Safe Harbor.
The company and its employees donated almost $14,000 to the American Red Cross to be earmarked for hurricane relief in the wake of devastating hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. The American Red Cross is using these donations to provide shelter, food, comfort and emergency support for individuals and families affected by the unprecedented damage caused by hurricanes.
Allianz Worldwide Partners donated $10,000 as the title sponsor of the 19thannual Links to a Cure golf tournament benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The tournament was held on September 11, 2017 at the Salisbury Country Club in Midlothian, VA. The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatments, and ensuring access to high quality, specialized care.
The company donated $20,000 to Richmond-based Safe Harbor, which provides support to the survivors of sexual and domestic violence and offers the resources its clients need to overcome their crisis and transform their lives. In 2017, more than 1,000 adults and 200 children were provided with support, counseling and referral information through Safe Harbor programs. Others were provided safe housing in the organization’s domestic violence shelter and human trafficking shelter.
