Alma Finanssipalvelut Oy now licensed to carry out payment intermediation
Alma Media Corporation Press Release 2 May 2023
ALMA FINANSSIPALVELUT OY NOW LICENSED TO CARRY OUT PAYMENT INTERMEDIATION
Alma Media's Alma Finanssipalvelut Oy has been granted a licence to carry out payment intermediation in accordance with the Payment Institutions Act, which can be used, for example, in vehicle trade between consumers. The licence has been granted by the Financial Supervisory Authority. Until now, in Alma Media services, payment intermediation has been provided by partners.
“Payment intermediation will support Alma Media's marketplace business, where the aim is to provide customers with a service that enables vehicle transactions to be executed safely and seamlessly from start to finish. The added value for the consumer comes from the ease of usability and the transparency that the solution brings to the trading process. Strong authentication is required by both: the subject of trade and the parties involved in the transaction. The payment intermediation will be handled securely.”, says Kirsikka Isohanni, Managing Director of Alma Finanssipalvelut Oy.
Alma Finanssipalvelut Oy is planned to start operating in 2023.
