Alma Media becomes the majority shareholder of the DOKS service
Alma Media Corporation Press release 3 April 2023
ALMA MEDIA BECOMES THE MAJORITY SHAREHOLDER OF THE DOKS SERVICE
Alma Media Corporation has acquired a majority stake in Suomen Tunnistetieto Oy. Suomen Tunnistetieto’s DOKS service provides an efficient and secure digital tool for managing anti-money laundering obligations, monitoring sanctions and, in general, identifying and knowing customers (Know Your Customer, the KYC process).
Suomen Tunnistetieto was established in 2014 and the DOKS service was launched in 2019. In 2022, the company’s revenue amounted to approximately EUR 1 million. Alma Media Corporation acquired 25% of the company in the summer of 2021, and its stake has now increased to 51%.
“Alma Talent is seeking growth from scalable digital services aimed at companies. The ever-increasing regulation is fuelling demand for services supporting compliance processes. The DOKS service complements our product portfolio and allows us to further increase our market share. I would like to warmly welcome the people of DOKS to Alma Media,” says Juha-Petri Loimovuori, CEO of Alma Talent.
“The demand for KYC services is supported by both legal requirements and stakeholders’ increased expectations for responsible business operations. Companies are becoming increasingly interested in reputation management and are aiming to create a competitive advantage through responsibility. We also want to implement KYC processes where the regulatory requirements do not yet apply. The forthcoming responsibility legislation will further increase the company’s due diligence obligations. The acquisition of a majority stake at this stage was a natural continuation of Alma Talent’s growth strategy,” says Taru Lehtinen, Director of Alma Talent Services.
“Suomen Tunnistetieto is a rapidly growing company whose objective is to develop a digital service for the efficient management of KYC and AML measures that is smooth and as automated as possible. We are very happy with our collaboration with Alma Media, and the arrangement implemented today will further strengthen our service and produce additional benefits for our continuously growing customer base,” says Petteri Tenhunen, Chairman of Suomen Tunnistetieto’s Board of Directors.
