ALMA MEDIA HAS COMPLETED THE OUTSOURCING OF THE EARLY MORNING DELIVERY OF ITS NEWSPAPERS IN PIRKANMAA AND SATAKUNTA TO POSTI GROUP

Alma Media has completed the transaction under which the early morning delivery operations carried out by Alma Manu in Pirkanmaa and Satakunta related to the newspapers published by Alma Media Kustannus will be outsourced to Posti Ltd as of 1 January 2020. With the outsourcing, approximately 780 employees from Alma Manu’s delivery business will transfer to Posti Group. The effective date of the transfer is 1 January 2020.

In 2018, the revenue of the Alma Media Group’s internal delivery operations that are transferred in this business transaction was approximately MEUR 18.1. Alma Media expects that it will achieve annual cost savings of MEUR 5–6 as a result of the outsourcing of deliveries. Alma Media will record sales proceeds amounting to approximately MEUR 8 from the business transfer in its result for the first quarter of 2020.

The change has no immediate effects on the publication dates or deliveries of Alma Media Kustannus newspapers.
