ALMA MEDIA’S COMPARISON DATA UNDER THE NEW SEGMENT STRUCTURE AND REVISED DISTRIBUTION OF REVENUE
Alma Media is publishing unaudited comparison data under the new segment structure and the revised distribution of revenue for each quarter in 2023 and for January–December 2023. Starting from the first quarter of 2024, Alma Media will report according to the new segment structure and revised distribution of revenue. Comparison figures are presented separately at the Group level and the segment level.
On 16 February 2024, Alma Media announced that the revised segment structure would take effect on 1 March 2024. Alma Media's business segments are Alma Career, Alma Marketplaces and Alma News Media.
As a result of the reform, the Alma News Media business segment includes Iltalehti, Kauppalehti and Alma's other journalistic news media. The Alma Marketplaces segment includes marketplaces and systems for housing, business premises and mobility, comparison services, and services for businesses and professionals. The segment's best-known services include Etuovi, Nettiauto, Objektvision and Suomenlaki.com. The changes will not affect the Alma Career business segment, which focuses on the recruitment business.
The Group's centralised functions are handled outside segment reporting. The Group's reportable segments correspond to the Group's operating segments.
Alma Media will also renew its revenue reporting, dividing the revenue into classified advertising, advertising, digital services, content sales and other sales in the future. In addition, Alma Media will also disclose more detailed segment-specific revenue and profitability figures in accordance with the nature of business operations.
The new segment structure supports Alma Media's strategic journey towards more advanced media, information and trading platforms. The organisational change will also enable closer collaboration within the segments and accelerate product development of services and efficient use of technology. The purpose of the updated segment structure and revenue reporting is to increase the transparency of the businesses and to clarify the overall picture of Alma Media's financial condition and performance.
Alma Media's Q1 Interim Report for 2024 will be published on 19 April 2024 at approximately 8.00 a.m.
The attached tables present data according to the new segment structure and revised turnover distribution for 2023.
